Bulletin Boards

"We Dream Big IN Preschool"

Description

In this bulletin board the main influence for the design was Disney and Disney castle and font. To make this board we first started by putting a base backround of the light blue paper. Then we made each cut out letter to spell out the saying on the board. Also while those letters were being cut out we made little circles to make Miney and Mickey heads which then would have on each one a different preschoolers name. To continue on the Disney castle was made by using a projector and tracing that onto black paper and then cutting it out. Finally the last thing on the board is the clouds which were just made out of cotton balls.

Assembly

To assemble this bulletin board we started with our base of light blue paper which depending on the surface you are placing this on will decide whether you can tape it or staple it. The next step is to begin glueing the cut out letters onto the board. We used Elmers stick glue because the letters were thin and it was the most stable way of sticking the letters on. This process of glueing also applies for the Mickey and Miney heads and the castle. For the castle speed was the key due to the glue being able to dry pretty quickly. Finally the cotton ball clouds were done by using Elmers liquid glue and by first placing the bottom layer of balls and bulding your way up to keep a stable base for the clouds. An extra thing you can do with the clouds is to distress the cotton balls and make them look more flowey.

"Our Class is dino-mite"

Description

This bulletin board is most influenced by dinosaurs. To start off this board uses light blue paper to make the background of the sky and also light green paper to make the ground that the dinosaurs are standing on. The letters were made out of white paper and we used our paper cutter in the class to make the letters, which spell out "Our class is Dino-Mite". Sorry for the picture being blurry we just forgot to take one up close of it. The clouds were made of cotton balls. The trees were made of brown and green paper and were formed to look like trees. Finally, the dinosaurs were all hand-cut and were a range of different colors to create variety. To add life to the dinosaurs we put a googly eye onto each one and also let the kids, during their art station that day, paint the dinosaurs with various paint colors.

Assembly

To start off this board since it was on a real bulletin board we were able to use staples to put up everything. We first put on the light blue paper as our base for the sky and then we cut the light green paper to add hills into the grass so it wasn't just a flat surface.  For the trees we to a piece of brown paper, rolled it up, and then flattened it to make the base of the tree. To make the leaves of the tree we took a couple pieces of darker green paper and crumbled them up to form the tree. For the clouds we took cotton balls and used liquid glue to form the first bottom layers of them and then built them up in a triangular formation. Finally we took the dinosaurs that were described in the other paragraph and used staples to put them on and make them face differnent direstions and do different actions. Although the picture is a little blurry one thing we could correct is making sure we have enough dinosaurs facing both directions because one problem we saw was that we had eleven dinasaurs facing right and four facing left which can create some issues on placement. Overall this is a fun board to make and can involve the kids in part of this board.

Description

This bulletin was made to give a little encouragement to students walking the halls as last school year was a rough time for many students and positivity was needed at the school. I first started with the background which was made of a bunch of medium-sized black papers that overlap on each other. I then found different sayings that all could start with you and were positive messages and then printed those phrases on colored pieces of paper and cut them into ovals and scattered them on the door. With the preschoolers not in person, there was no way of involving them in some way for this board.

Assembly

Since this board was on a door I had to use tape to put this whole thing as well as cut a hole around the window and door handle so that it was still function-able. After that was just putting out the cut-out colored ovals with the phrases on them. Again there wasn't much assembly for this board besides the black background but other than that this was a pretty simple project but still spread some positivity and made many people's days seeing something new and happy in the halls.

Description

This bulletin board has a pretty simplistic design that plays on the pandemic and makes a cute little phrase that people can smile at. For this one, it took an array of colored papers that I cut the hearts and hands out of as well as the letters. I chose not to do a background because I thought it looked better without one especially with so many colors already on the door. Again with the preschoolers were not in person there was no way of putting their influence on the board.

Assembly

The assembly for this board mainly came from having to cut out every heart, hand, and letter. Once all of those things were cut out it was mainly just taping each thing onto the door. I could see in a normal year where the kids are in person that you could have the kids outline and cut their hands out and you could replace the precut hands with those. This is a really fun and colorful board that can fit in any classroom.
